BEBO Bakery is a Dutch foundation promoting the living conditions and the vocational training of orphans and stray kids.In response to a request from an orphanage in Ampenyi near Takoradi on the Ghanaian coast for support from
The Netherlands, the foundation was established in Zwolle in January 2004.

Though initially the improvement of the living conditions and education of the orphans was our aim we gradually developed wider goals: the improvement and development of the village community.
The Ampenyi Development Foundation (ADF), as a counterpart organisation, was established in December 2004 with local and regional representatives.
As required and at the request of the local community an educational foodprogram and vocational training projects are being developed.
BEBO Foundation has applied herself to micro financing in 2006, after it was already obvious that the development projects transferred to the local community could only survive with permanent financial support. Ghanaian culture is at odds with cooperative or collective projects. BEBO Foundation's strategy has been finetuned to this and can be summarized as follows:
Teaching young people, both older orphans as well as the local youths, a trade in small, independent, profitable enterprises. Offering talented people the opportunity to start their own enterprise with financial support. Catchwords are: educational, sustainable, profitable. Outcome: Vocational training, labour, food, personal responsibility.
