Classmates

 

 

After some years of preparation by Albert and Lisa Stroeve in the Netherlands and Ghana,

BEBOBakery (Vocational training) was founded on 9 January 2004.

An initiative of three former classmates of a primary school in Coevorden (1948-1954),

Herman Assen, Henk Beukeveld and Albert Stroeve, with the slogan:

 

Sharing retirement with others.

 

 

 

Goals:

 

                                                  FOOD   -   VOCATIONAL TRAINING  -   WORK

 

Its goal is, trainng of senior orphans as well as local village youths,

in small, independent, profitable enterprises.

Local unemployment: 90%.

 

 

 

 

Food                      Specifically: bread vegetables and fruit

 

Training               Bakery, production for home use and as merchandise

                        Carpentry and joinery workshops

                        Textile workshop

                        Computertraining

                        Agricultural irrigation with Micro Drip System

 

                        An empty schoolbuilding renovated by Bebobakery and the village of

                        Ampenyi on Ghana’s southcoast, is the heart of the project.
